Magic Monday

“You have to give to the world the thing that you want the most, in order to fix the broken parts inside you.” Eve Ensler

Forget Manic Mondays – let’s talk MAGIC, and lots of it.  Negativity is out, passion and positivity are in!!  Need some inspiration to start your week off right?  How about the first of The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.  Aside from being an awesome human being, he’s also a master of the Toltec, a people who thousands of years ago were highly regarded throughout southern Mexico as women and men of great knowledge and wisdom.

The first of The Four Agreements is to always BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD.

Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean.  Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others.  Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love…Like a sword with two edges, your word can create the most beautiful dream, or your word can destroy everything around you.  One edge is the misuse of the word, which creates a living hell. The other edge is impeccability of the word, which will only create beauty, love, and heaven on earth. Depending upon how it is used, the word can set you free, or it can enslave you even more than you know.  All the magic you posses is based on your word. Your word is pure magic, and misuse of your word is black magic.  –The Four Agreements, Chapter 2

Have you ever innocently told a little white lie that eventually snowballed into something much bigger and out of control then you could have ever imagined? Or partook in some seemingly harmless gossip? Or perhaps you’ve been on the other end where someone deceived you or spoke negatively about you behind your back?  I think we’ve all been there at some point, and it sucks. We put ourselves and others through unnecessary stress and heartache and can even end up really hurting ourselves and the people we love.  Having integrity with our word ultimately translates into having integrity and respect for ourselves.  So respect yourself, be magical, say what you mean and mean what you say.  It sounds very simple, but it is very, very powerful. So next time someone asks you to do something and you start to go into some silly made-up story, just pause, take a step back and be honest with yourself; even if it’s as simple as ‘I don’t feel like it.’  People will love and respect you more when they know that you have integrity and are strong enough to honor your truth.  Let’s try it this week and let me know how it goes!

Yummy morsels for a Magical Monday:

A video by filmmaker, Andrea Dorfman, and poet/singer/songwriter, Tanya Davis.

Davis wrote the beautiful poem and performed in the video which Dorfman directed, shot, animated by hand and edited. The video was shot in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This makes my heart soar and sing out loud! Love!!

Many of you have already seen this video but it is too magical not to watch again and again! This gives me goose bumps all over!! Look at the passion in their hearts!! Their story is so uplifting and inspiring!

Love me some Lykke Li!!

Hank hopes you have a Magical Monday!
