Sunday Smoothie

Today’s smoothie is simple, delicious and perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. It’s tasty and yet still loaded with minerals!

You’ll need:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1.5 cups of frozen fruit – I used a tropical mix of mango, strawberry, papaya, and pineapple
  • 1 large handful baby spinach
  • 2 tsps Spirulina
  • 1 tsp Acai Powder
  • 1-2 dropperfuls NuNaturals Alcohol Free Stevia to taste
  • 1 cup water or almond milk (adjust amount as needed for desired consistency)

Simply blend all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth. I use a VitaMix which is an amazing, state of the art, professional grade high speed blender. They are the ONLY blender that will give you the creamy consistency that you desire.  I love, love, LOVE my VitaMix and highly recommend investing in one if you are ready to make serious changes to your diet. I have had mine for almost 5 years and use it daily! If you’re not ready to drop that kind of cash, I also like Hamilton Beach which makes some great budget friendly blenders that you can get at your local Walmart or Target.

After blending, I garnished my smoothie with some Goji Berries which add a nice texture and make it look pretty!!

I made this yesterday – SHAAZAAM! Love it! I added dandelion greens and 2 tsp. of Maqui, frozen blueberries – the PRETTIEST purple color. I doubled the batch b/c my husband wanted some. Got to share the goodness and benefits of these superfood smoothies. Topped mine with a mix of goji, mulberries, goldenberries and maqui berries. Smoothie heaven. Kept me going strong for several hours. Thanks, Linda!

I love all of your smoothie ideas and I am so grateful for your site. Unfortunately I am allergic to stevia (and xylitol) so I have to leave it out. I am trying to stay away from sugar and don’t eat artificial sweeteners, so do you have any advice on how to get some more sweetness in the smoothies without stevia? I have a terrible sweet tooth, so just doing the recipes without isn’t an option for me until I kick the habit.
