I started my day with my usual coffee and 80 billion probiotic (use code WAG472 to get $5-10 off first purchase). I’ve started adding this amazing cocoa syrup made with stevia and it’s kind of amazing!!
I always tell my clients “eat when you’re hungry and if you’re not hungry, don’t eat.” I’ve found that so many people (including me in the past) eat according to the clock. It’s 7am so it’s time for breakfast, noon is time for lunch, 6pm is time for dinner…or they just eat because something is in front of them but very rarely ever check in with their bodies to actually see whether they are truly hungry or not.
It actually creates a bigger burden on the body to eat when we are not truly hungry. It can make us feel tired, bloated, have indigestion, and lead to weight gain and skin issues. I have found through listening to my body that I’m not typically hungry in the morning, so most days I won’t eat until 10, 11, or even after 1pm some days!! This day I woke up very hungry, so I ate! It’s all about listening to your body and honoring it’s signals!
Breakfast was this quinoa salad with 2 fried eggs (from Tiny, our backyard chicken – they make the BEST eggs!!). I topped it with black pepper and cholula hot sauce. In all honesty it wasn’t that good, the pomegranate seeds just didn’t go with the eggs! I was craving something more like this and will keep that in mind next time 🙂
Later in the afternoon I snacked on a few pieces of Bark Thins. LOOOOOOVE Bark Thins, they are SO GOOD! I got these at Costco and I’ve also seen them at Whole Foods.
I had a little happy hour a Gloria’s and had a margarita and some chips + salsa and their black bean dip. Not the healthiest but it was such a beautiful evening to sit on the patio, a margarita just seemed like the right thing to do 😉
Then we came home and I had some leftover grilled steak from the night before. Not every day is perfect, but a little cheat day in moderation won’t hurt!
