Happy Hump Day!! How about a little mid week pampering?! With this cold weather I’ve been entertaining myself indoors by testing out various DIY all natural beauty regimens! I hope you have as much fun testing them out as I did!!

4 All-Natural DIY Beauty Regimens

Dry winter skin? Try this homemade coconut coffee body scrub! Photo and recipe via the Free People blog

  • 1/2 cup ground coffee – rich in antioxidants, making it an awesome anti-inflammatory ingredient. It contains caffeine, which draws out excess moisture from your skin, causing it to look and feel smoother and firmer. In this scrub, coffee acts as a mild exfoliant, removing dead skin cells and exposing fresh, soft skin.
  • 1/2 cup coconut palm sugar – acts as a second exfoliant in this scrub. For more of a deep exfoliation, you can use a sugar with a coarser texture, like organic cane sugar.
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil – super hydrating and incredibly moisturizing. It’s also filled with vitamins and minerals, which it locks securely into your skin and makes it silky smooth!
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon – helps to clear your skin of any bacteria. It also brings blood to the surface of the skin, helping to smooth out any lines that may be present.

To make the scrub, mix all of the ingredients together until well-combined. If your coconut oil is solid, gently heat it until it melts, but wait for it to go back to room temperature before adding the other ingredients. This is to ensure that your exfoliants don’t dissolve in the oil! Once mixed, store your scrub in an air-tight container.

4 All-Natural DIY Beauty Regimens Lavender Detox Bath:

DIY Coconut Oil makeup remover

I love using coconut oil on my skin but did you know that it’s also great as an all natural makeup remover?! The lovely Cara shows us how easy it is to use. Plus it’s all natural, smells amazing, and is great for your skin! This is one of my fave sites for hair and makeup tips!

“Linda, I have to say I am having a great time with this detox so far.  I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so well in my life and it’s guilt-free deliciousness to boot! Thank you so much for your help and encouragement! P.S.  I lost 2 lbs. this week already.  Best time I’ve ever had eating to my heart’s content!  {UPDATE} I just remeasured myself today actually.  I found that I’ve actually lost 5 lbs. since the beginning of the month and 2 inches each off of my waist and thighs.  I can just feel myself getting cleaner and leaner.  I’m also usually a crappy cook, but these recipes are fool proof and actually taste great, so I’m happy as a clam. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know how much I’m enjoying it so far!  And I love that you can feel and see results immediately.  All the more motivation to keep it up!” – Kara
