Delicious Juice Recipe using Kitchen Scraps

One of my favorite ways to clean out the fridge and use up any extra produce is to juice it! You just need fruit, veg, and lemon/lime to make a delicious combo!

This juice isn’t fancy but it’s delicious, nutritious and loaded with antioxidants! It is super refreshing and will give you a nice little burst of energy after drinking it!

Kitchen Scrap Green Juice

You’ll need:

  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 apples
  • 1 pear
  • kale stems (I save these after making kale salads)
  • 2 broccoli stalks (these are great for juicing, save these too!)
  • celery tops, including the leafy part
  • handful parsley
  • 1 lemon (peeled)
  • 1 lime (peeled)

First wash the skin of your fruits and veggies. I always use this wash.

Then simply run all ingredients through a juicer (I recommend Breville). Makes 32oz.

Delicious Green Juice Recipe Using Kitchen Scraps!

Feel free to throw in or substitute whatever you have. Grapes, baby carrots, strawberries, even green beans! And, if you have backyard chickens like we do, be sure to give them the leftover pulp. They love it!

It’s crazy to think that it’s almost mid February!! Spring break is only a month away and with spring break usually comes beaches and warmer weather (thank goodness)!! As you know, I love juicing as my go-to for a quick slim down. Plus it makes you feel absolutely WONDERFUL both inside and out! I know most of us are typically focused on the vanity of health but there really is no replacement for feeling good internally!

This Beach Babe Juice aids in weight loss while acting as a detoxifier and appetite suppressant when drunk first thing in the morning.

Here is a breakdown of nutrients and benefits of the Beach Babe juice.

The carrots provide antioxidants and vitamin A which helps the liver to cleanse toxins out of the body. Carrots also support the skin and help to create that beautiful GLOW.

The citrus in this juice provides the body with hesperidin and diosmin which are bioflavinoids found in citrus fruits like lemons, limes and oranges. These bioflavinoids support:

  • fat metabolism
  • healthy cholesterol levels
  • active metabolic function
  • healthy veins (great for bulging veins and varicose veins!!)
  • immune system function
  • inflammation

This juice also contains blackberries and raspberries which are bursting with skin clearing antioxidants. They’re also jam packed with polyphenol antioxidants, according to Dr. Perricone. Polyphenols fight free radicals and regulate skin’s blood flow, giving it rosiness and a youthful glow. Berries are also rich in antioxidants and anthocyanins which are associated with a lower risk of certain cancers, urinary tract health, memory function, and healthy aging. They also contain vitamin C which supports the immune system. When I have berries that have been in the fridge too long, I always throw them in my juice recipes, they have amazing health and anti-aging benefits!

Romaine lettuce is full of vitamin C, vitamin K, and potassium and is also low in calories. It is an extremely alkaline food which results in faster cleansing in the body.

Cucumber is rich in B vitamins, water, electrolytes, silicon and sulfur to support hydration, liver, kidney, skin, and immune system health.

This belly buster green juice is a powerful one! I know everyone is ready to rock their New Year’s resolutions so I thought I would share one of my favorite juice recipes for busting belly fat and jump-starting your metabolism!

This belly buster juice is loaded with citrus fruits, including their skins. Normally, I peel my citrus before juicing because the essential oils in the skin can make the juice bitter. In this case, we’re going to keep the skin due to the high amounts of hesperidin and diosmin. Hesperidin and diosmin are bioflavinoids found in citrus fruits like lemons and oranges. These bioflavinoids support:

  • healthy cholesterol levels
  • active metabolic function
  • healthy veins (great for bulging veins and varicose veins!!)
  • immune system function
  • fat metabolism
  • inflammation

While these bioflavinoids may taste slightly bitter, the benefits are well worth it! I created this combination specifically with health benefits and taste in mind so it’s actually still quite tasty! In all honesty, I think most of us can endure a little bitterness in exchange for a flat belly and amazing health benefits, am I right?!

I recommend having this juice daily as your breakfast meal. Substituting juice for breakfast is a great way to reduce your food intake while still getting ample vitamins and minerals. Most people find that they don’t even miss having solid food for breakfast because juicing makes them feel so satisfied due to the high content of nutrients. Personally, I always feel a nice little ZING from juicing that energizes me in such a clean and lovely way. Try it and see how you feel! If you’re not ready to substitute juice as a meal, you can have it as a snack in between meals. You will still get great benefits from doing so!

  • 1 large cucumber
  • 1 large lemon, including skin
  • 1 lime, including skin
  • 3 small mandarins, including skin
  • 1 head romaine lettuce

First wash the skin of your fruits and veggies. I always use this wash. Because we are using the skin, try to get all organic if you can.

Then simply run all ingredients through a juicer (I recommend Breville) and feel the ZING!! (Makes 32oz)

This was the first time in a long time that I took a REAL vacation as in, no emails, no phone, barley any internet. I was truly disconnected and it was really nice! I ate lots of great food (too much probably)!! So now it’s back to the real world and time to get on track again!
