School is back in session and I’ve been getting several questions on healthy snacks for kids. Getting your kids to eat healthier can actually be a lot easier than you think!! I’ve found the two of the most important factors to be:
- Making it accessible. Be sure to prep healthy foods ahead of time. Most kids will pass on an apple in the fridge. However, hand them a plate with sliced apples and a big dollop of almond butter and they’ll dig in! It seems like such a small thing but it makes a huge difference! Make sure your healthy foods are ready to eat!!
- Make it fun! When food is colorful and interesting, everyone is going to be more interested in trying it. Use color and creativity to spruce up your snacks.

These apple cookies are beyond adorable and would be great for kids and adults! Have your kids help you with the assembly and picking out toppings, they’ll have a blast doing it!
These apple pops are gorgeous, super fun, and really delicious!!
These teddy bear toasts are anything but boring and are sure to be a hit with everyone! Simply toast some Ezekiel bread, spread with almond butter, and top with sliced bananas and raisins/blueberries/chocolate chips!
Presentation is everything! These butterfly snacks make ordinary snacks exciting! I would leave out the goldfish (too many toxic dyes and preservatives) and choose a healthier cracker or trail mix instead!
Watermelon Pizza?! Such a fun treat!!
These rainbow veggie skewers are a great way to get your kids excited about eating more veggies! Have them help you place the veggies on the skewers too! Kids love to help and are much more likely to feel comfortable with foods when they are familiar with them and feel like they have created something special!
These egg muffins are so easy to make and would be a great breakfast-on-the-go option for the whole family!
