Magic Monday

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!! Here are your Monday Motivation links!!

“You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.” -Jim Rohn

Interesting article on why women like to be alone and men don’t

“Past mistakes should teach you to create a wonderful future; not cause you to be afraid of it. Every single thing that has ever happened in your life is preparing you for a moment that is yet to come” -via www.marcandangel.com love their blog, LOADS of inspiration!

The TDL on Why We Date at the Level of our Self Esteem. “The common question seems to be: “How can I change myself so this will work”, and the response is “Don’t change yourself – BE YOURSELF”…The responsibility is on you to communicate your needs and to choose someone who honors you, cherishes you and loves you…If you don’t love, honor and cherish yourself, you will settle and your needs won’t get met.”

Protein: How much do you need and where to get it.

I love this website and I love these natural skincare recipes. Here’s one for homemade organic moisturizing lotion and another for Aloe moisturizing oil.

The Emotional Side of CleansingThere’s a big part of the cleansing ritual that rocks our emotional world. The more intense the cleanse + the longer you go, the more profound your experience may be.”

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, MAKE THEM. – George Bernard Shaw

Interesting read on a controversial topic: A magazine dedicated to plus-size fashion and models has sparked controversy with a feature claiming that most runway models meet the Body Mass Index criteria for anorexia.

What you need to know about Parabens and Breast Cancer Study: Nearly all women with breast cancer have parabens in their breast tissue. They are added to everything from shampoos and deodorants to processed foods and pharmaceutical drugs in order to inexpensively extend shelf life and improve product stability. But a new study out of the University of Reading (UR) in the UK has found that, based on tests conducted, nearly every single woman with breast cancer has one or more paraben chemicals in her breast tissue, suggesting a possible link between the chemical and the disease.

Pink Ribbons Inc.  A Must-see documentary for all women. Exposes the total sham of the “pink ribbons” commercialization push by Komen. If you think you can cure cancer by buying “pink” products, think again. Watch this preview and see the movie. I think awareness is always a good thing. I think that the Komen Foundation has brought a tremendous amount of awareness and support for women and families dealing with this issue. However, I do agree there is so much hypocrisy and contradiction. We must EDUCATE women on prevention and how to take care of themselves on the most basic levels (like sharing articles like the one above)…but there’s not a lot of money in that is there?

Preservatives are actually killing youSodium benzoate is a preservative that promotes cancer and kills healthy cells. This killer is flying under consumer radar with its user friendly tag line, “as a preservative.” This silent cell choker has found its way into thousands of products, even foods that are labeled as all natural. But don’t be fooled. While benzoic acid is found naturally in low levels in many fruits, the sodium benzoate  listed on a product’s label is synthesized in a lab.

I love this!!! The sign “please be responsible for the energy that you bring into this space,” has been on my pinboard for forever now! I saw it on Oprah and it just made so much sense. It is a huge choice that we make to decide whether we want to be positive or not. I’m going to make a cute sign of that and hang it somewhere in my entry way, because it’s hard for me to not bring my day at work home with me. Nobody needs to hear the negatives, and I need to leave them at the door. Great Monday Motivation Linda! Keep em coming!

It’s Tuesday morning and I am just reading my Monday email, Monday Motivations. My health benefits just from reading your email. As I read I feel this “I can do” vibe coursing through me! I have been a CSA member for years, so our home is full of in-season vegetables. I believe that eating and cooking at home would end obesity. Will definitely give the green juice a try.
And, I also have a friend whose cancer “disappeared” through diet alone. The medical community refuses to say “cured”. We hold all the power through our choices, yet the temptations are constant and savage. Keep up the great work, we need as many like you as we can get on our side.
