Sinfully Good for Your Waistline

Keeping with the simple & easy theme, here is another fast recipe that literally takes about 5 mins to make.  This rich, chocolaty shake tastes absolutely sinful but without the guilt!

As you know, I’m all about meals that are satisfying, delicious, healthy and FAST!! This decadent chocolate shake is no different.

You’ll need:

Simply add everything together in a blender and blend until smooth. Viola!  The perfect snack that takes literally 5 mins to make and helps you stay on track with your weight loss!

People always ask me what kind of blender I use and recommend. I make all my smoothies using a VitaMix which is a super awesome, state of the art, amazing, must have high speed blender. They are the ONLY blender that will get you the creamy consistency that you desire.  I love, love, LOVE my VitaMix and highly recommend investing in one if you are ready to make serious changes to your diet. I have had mine for 5 years and use it daily! If you’re not ready to drop that kind of cash, Hamilton Beach makes some great budget friendly blenders that you can get at your local Walmart or Target.

So simple. So delicious!

Kids go craaaazy for this shake! It’s a chocolate extravaganza without the sugar high so you can feel good about serving it up for your little ones anytime!

I love this smoothie for breakfast, as a snack, and when I’m on the go. I hope you like it as much as I do!!

I can’t wait to try this Linda. Looks really good.

  5. Rebekah Chua says:

Hey there! Just found your blog recently and I find your post really inspiring. :) Anyway, I saw that you posted about drinking lemon water in the morning, so I’d like to ask is drinking tea in the morning good too?

  6. Michelle says:

This looks delicious! Can you tell me what kind of chocolate powder you used? Is it regular cocoa powder?

  7. Sandra says:

We have come to LOVE this shake in my house. My 8 yr. old asks for it all the time. We however use coconut milk and I sneak in chia seeds. :)

  8. Alexa says:

Yum. Bookmarking this and ordering those… I have a feeling that post-baby, this will be in heavy rotation for me (and before she comes too…). I’m sure Xavier will love these too!

  9. Jana says:

what exactly is the almond milk?
    thanks…looks so yummy:-)

    • Linda says:

You can purchase almond milk at the store or make your own. It’s very simply just water blended with almonds. The fiber is strained and you are left with just the sweet creamy almond “milk” – it’s delicious!!

  10. Lulu says:

I enjoy adding a tablespoon of my favorite nut butter to this combo too!

  11. Cathy Smith says:

I ordered or bought at the store everything I needed to make the green smoothie and the chocolate milkshake. I am sooo anxious to try them. From other peoples comments on here I am sure I will love them.

  12. A. Sanborn says:

Already added to the grocery list…

Thank-you for helping me get some extra fruit into the lactose intollerent, [not a rabbit] hubby…

My inquiry pertains to the style in which you FREEZE your bananas? Whole in nature’s wrapper in a freezer bag? Chopped/halved in individual freezer bags in container? Since I’m a working mom who NEEDS organization for my life and small freezer. Do you have any tips? Also… hubby consumes the VANILLA almond milk along with Rice Dream, so is the vanilla stevia still recommended? I really attempt to eliminate or reduce the sugar within most recipes when & if possible.

    Appreciate the recommendations.

    • Linda says:

I peel and then freeze my bananas. It’s up to you if you want to add more vanilla. I personally like to add more. Vanilla Almond Milk has just a hint of vanilla, which is nice but I tend to like a little more :)

and p.s. stevia is not a sugar. It is an extract from the stevia plant which is sweet in taste but contains zero sugar. Enjoy!!

  13. Alex says:

This might be a stupid question.. but do they sell Vanilla Stevia at my local super market? Does anyone know which is the cheapest chocolate powder I could purchase as well? I’m a broke college student! This looks delicious and i’d love to try it!!

    • A. Sanborn says:

There are no stupid/dumb questions per say… thus how we all learn.

I found my health food store could order the vanilla stevia for just under $9.00. I decided to go with the non-alcholic liquid Stevia {in stock} since I’m not a patient person.

Cocoa powder can be found in your baking isle of any supermarket. It just depends on whether your wanting organic or not. Baking isle will cost you around $4.00 or less pending your choices. Our local health food store ALSO sold organic cocoa repackaged by them in smaller qtys. for less $.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

  14. Nicole says:

can you use vanilla almond milk instead of the vanilla stevia?

  15. Tara says:

I avoid all artificial sweeteners because they upset my stomach and are not really good for you. Is stevia 100% natural? I have been reluctant to try it. I tend to use honey or cane sugar in small quanities.

    • Linda says:

yes, 100% natural, of course!! I would never have it any other way!!
Stevia is a plant that tastes sweet but does not contain sugar :) NuNaturals is an extract of the stevia plant, tastes wonderful, and is 100% natural!

  16. Danielle says:

    HI Linda,

Thank you for this wonderful website. I just received my Vitamix, I LOOOVE making green smoothies and so does my 5yr old!! Its an awesome way for young kids to get those veggies without them knowing!!! So, today I am starting to Fast, its more of a spirtual fast with some sacrafices being made….one sacrafice is that I gave up sugar/sweets/candy. I just noticed your chocolate smoothie….and I wanted to know am I breaking my rule if I make this….because if I use all the ingredients, i’m not having sugar…right? I hope so because this could be my fix to my sweet tooth during my 21 day fast.

  17. Kristen Huls says:

Where do you find all of your wonderful containers that you serve or keep your juice / smoothies in???

  18. Alicia Chafin says:

I have a very hard time finding things my 7yr old son will eat. He will NOT touch any fruits or veggies (except carrot sticks). I am hoping a chocolate smoothie will be acceptable to him. Should I add protein powder or anything in order to get him through the morning at school? He will have to go several hours with nothing else to eat. I usually have Sunwarrior Raw Vegan Vanilla Protein powder.

  19. Rhonda says:

I was wondering if a handful of spinach would be ok in this?

  20. Jennifer says:

What can be done if you have a nut allergy?

  21. Daisy says:

Seems to be a great post- workout shake, power packed with essential nutrients…

  22. Sherry says:

Can you taste the banana? I do not like bananas at all, so that limits me on a lot of smoothies and ice cream recipes. And subs?

  23. Cassie says:

I had to run on here to say how GOOD/AMAZING/DELICIOUS this is!!
I have a dairy allergy and am always looking for alternatives that are actually good, and wow, is this ever!
I saw another comment saying to add in nut butter, so I added in a tablespoon of peanut butter. I didn’t have stevia on hand, so I subbed a spash of maple syrup and honey. I also used soy milk instead of almond. Seriously, SO GOOD.
Peanut butter/honey/banana is one of my favorite combos, so is chocolate/peanut butter.. so this is just an amazing winner.
Can you tell I’m excited? lol
